Bloxd.io is a blocky multiplayer io game that pulls a lot of Minecraft ideas into one browser tab. You gather wood, mine stone, craft tools, fight other players, and run parkour courses, all without installing anything. Pick a mode and you are dropped into a shared world with everyone else online.
The loop is simple to start and deep once you get going. Early on you are punching trees for wood. An hour later you might be hunting diamonds, defending a base, or hopping across floating blocks to beat a timer.
What is Bloxd.io?
It is a free sandbox and survival game with a voxel art style. Most modes share the same core: collect resources, craft better gear, and either build something or outlast other people. Some modes drop the survival side entirely and turn into parkour races or a draw-and-guess party game. You play in third person, and progress carries through a leveling and XP system you can check with a chat command.
Controls and movement
Movement is standard for the genre, and the mouse handles building. On phones you get on-screen buttons and a touch joystick instead.

Chat commands worth knowing
Type a forward slash to run a command. Use /rtv to vote and skip a map you dislike, /players to see who is in your lobby, /xp to check your level, and /played to see your total time. There is also /nobuffs, which runs maps without any buffs so your scores land on a separate leaderboard.
Game modes
Bloxd.io is really a collection of modes that share one engine. New ones get added often. These are the main ones to try first.
| Mode | How it works |
|---|---|
| BloxdHop.io | Race to the end of the map before the timer runs out, hopping parkour-style across blocks. |
| EvilTower | Climb a brutal tower with precise jumps. Inspired by Tower of Hell, so expect to fall a lot. |
| DoodleCube | Players build an object to match a theme while everyone votes on the results. |
| CubeWarfare | Third-person shooter where placing blocks is part of the strategy. |
| Peaceful | No pressure. Roam, gather, and build whatever you want. |
| Other modes | Survival, Creative, Bedwars, Sky Wars, OneBlock, Hide and Seek, Murder Mystery, and more. |
Building and crafting
In the survival-style modes the early game is about a clean tech path. Punch trees for wood first, since it is your most important early resource and stays useful deep in caves. Craft a workbench, then mine stone for a stone pickaxe. Find iron ore, smelt it in a furnace, and make an iron pickaxe, which you need before diamonds are reachable.
One quirk helps a lot: pickaxes have unlimited durability, so a single iron pickaxe lasts the whole run. Killing sheep early gives you wool for a bed, and sleeping grants a 15 minute speed boost that makes exploring faster.
Tips for mining and PvP
- Look for biomes with spiky black or carved stone formations, which usually mean diamonds are close. Check the tops of the spikes, not just the base.
- Skull-shaped structures sometimes hide chests, so they are worth looting.
- Hold off on diamond armor until you have about 30 diamonds, since a full set costs 24. Get the gear before you commit to a fight.
- Aim for Protection III enchantments before any serious PvP, and craft a diamond pickaxe for faster mining.
- Set one home at your base and another near enemy bases or rich resource areas so you can move quickly.
- Keep your inventory clean. Dropping junk leaves room for the resources that matter.
Why it works
The mix is the appeal. You can grind survival for an hour, then jump into a parkour race or a quick round of Murder Mystery without leaving the game. It is online, so there are real people building, chatting, and competing alongside you. The blocky world keeps it light, but the crafting depth and PvP give the longer modes some weight.
